Switzerland is where financial services and data protection legislation meet — and where the connectivity requirements that flow from both create a procurement challenge most providers underestimate. The revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, 2023) raises the bar on data path compliance. The SIX Swiss Exchange and the cluster of private banks, asset managers, and reinsurers in Zurich, Geneva, and Lucerne generate persistent demand for low-latency, KMZ-verified, carrier-diverse connectivity. We've built a deep installed base here because these clients don't buy on price alone.

The Connectivity Landscape

Swisscom is the dominant incumbent — nationwide network, strong enterprise sales, but the same KMZ limitation as BT and DTAG: they won't provide physical path files for access circuits. Sunrise received an "outstanding" rating in connect broadband testing in 2025 and has expanded its enterprise portfolio with redundant internet and cybersecurity bundling. Salt launched Corporate Internet tariffs in 2025 with symmetrical speeds up to 40Gbps and integrated DDoS protection — a genuinely competitive offering for high-bandwidth enterprise requirements.

Colt has network presence in Zurich, operating as a service provider on the city's fibre network. euNetworks completed a new diverse fibre route connecting Frankfurt and Zurich in October 2025 — the direct high-capacity path between Germany's internet hub and Switzerland's financial centre that financial services firms have been asking for. euNetworks also has a pathway via Marseille, Lyon, and Geneva for southern routing.

Zurich data centres include Equinix, Green Datacenter, nLighten, Stack, and Vantage — all offering direct connectivity to SwissIX and the SIX Swiss Exchange, critical for financial institutions requiring ultra-low latency to market data. Green's Zurich City facility is specifically designed for financial services regulatory requirements.

What We Deliver in Switzerland

We have a deep installed base across Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, and Lucerne — DIA, Ethernet, and backhaul capacity services. Swiss financial services clients route significant capacity from Zurich and Geneva back to Luxembourg, Frankfurt, London, and Paris. We manage those circuits as a regional programme, not four separate country relationships.

For regulated clients — banks, asset managers, reinsurers — we provide KMZ files for all circuits. Swisscom will not. Neither will DTAG-adjacent infrastructure across the border. This distinction matters increasingly under revFADP. Lead time in Zurich and Geneva: 35 working days via Colt on-net.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which carriers do you use in Switzerland?
We don't work from a fixed panel. We qualify your requirement first — resilience model, KMZ requirements (particularly relevant under revFADP), whether latency to Frankfurt is the primary metric, lead time, vendor preferences — then recommend the right carriers for your specific address in Zurich, Geneva, or Lausanne. Colt, euNetworks and Swisscom are among the options in Switzerland, but carrier selection is driven by your requirement and compliance obligations.

Can you provide KMZ files for Swiss circuits?
Yes. Swisscom will not. We use carriers that support KMZ provision for compliance requirements under revFADP and financial services regulation.

How long does delivery take?
35 working days in Zurich and Geneva via Colt on-net. Other Swiss cities: slightly longer, quoted per location.

Do you manage Swiss circuits alongside other European countries?
Yes — we regularly manage Switzerland alongside Germany, Luxembourg, France, and the UK as a single European programme.
